Bouncing off the walls: acoustic panels
We are excited to share our latest research project—3D concrete printed acoustic panels! In collaboration with RWTH Aachen University, the Chair of Individualized Production in Architecture, and our talented intern Jarry Pérez, we have developed these uniquely designed panels.
The geometry is created with the sine curve, with varying wave heights, lengths, and stacking configurations. This creates a dynamic surface that not only looks incredible but could also play a key role in sound control.
Next up: testing! Researchers at RWTH Aachen University will be evaluating whether these textured designs help absorb or dissipate acoustic waves, testing for acoustic wave scattering and sound reflection.
