We are going places. Mars to be exact.

Vertico sponsors a PhD position at @tudelft alongside the @europeanspaceagency Agency.

After collaborating with the TUDelft and ESA on the Rhizome project geared towards Mars habitation, Vertico decided to extend their relationship and continue to fund the research.

We are thrilled to introduce Arwin Hidding, a talented designer and researcher, who is both a PhD candidate at TU Delft and now a valued member of the Vertico team. Arwin graduated Cum Laude from TU Delft, with his project being nominated for the prestigious Archiprix.

Arwin’s research focuses on creating 3D prints with programmable properties by using different materials or geometries. Additionally, he is working on groundbreaking research Rhizome 2.0, which focuses on the development of a materially, structurally, and environmentally optimised 3D printed structure by means of Robot-Robot and Human-Robot interaction.

In the photo, you can see the ‘Variable Stiffness Chaise Longue,’ a project designed and developed at TU Delft by Henriëtte Bier and Arwin Hidding in collaboration with TUE and EPFL, and produced by 3D-Robotprinting.

We are proud to have such a talented and innovative individual as part of our team. Keep an eye out for more groundbreaking work from Arwin!
